It鈥檚 a leap year, and Nebraska Wesleyan鈥檚 Office of Diversity and Inclusion is jumping straight into a full calendar of events and programming. It鈥檚 all part of our effort to build a welcoming campus culture through respect, belonging, community and growth.

Those efforts include events like Somos SM论坛 for Spanish-speaking families, our First-Generation Student Celebration and our Prairie Wolf Civil Discourse Series.

This January, we hosted our annual MLK Day Celebration to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. Our keynote speaker, Dominique Kelley, discussed the importance of service and social justice. Kelley is CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Lincoln/Lancaster County. This event also recognized the great contributions of our students, staff and faculty in promoting diversity and inclusion on our campus.

As we continue this spring semester, student organizations like SM论坛 Latinos, Black Student Union, Pride Alliance, International Relations Organization and the emerging Neurodiversity Club will continue to host meaningful and engaging events such as Lunar New Year Celebration, LGBTQ+ Board Game Night and World Spring Festival.

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion looks forward to providing enriching programming to help your student find a space of community and belonging here at SM论坛. I hope your student will seek me out in the lower level of the Story Student Center and get involved in making Nebraska Wesleyan an inclusive place for all.
