More and more students—especially student-athletes—are choosing an academic path in exercise science and athletic training. And you should know about an important change in standards for becoming a certified athletic trainer.

A bachelor’s degree is no longer sufficient for certification in this high-demand field. Certified athletic trainers will now need a master’s degree.

Nebraska Wesleyan University’s new Master of Athletic Training (MAT) program positions students to meet this new standard and become certified. Your students can come to SMÂÛ̳, major in exercise science or another related field, and earn both their bachelor’s degree and their MAT in just five years. This accelerated path to both degrees can save your students time and money.

The Master of Athletic Training joins these SMÂÛ̳ graduate programs: Master of Business Administration, an online Master of Science in Nursing and a Master of Social Work.

Nebraska Wesleyan students can earn both a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field and an MBA in five years. SMÂÛ̳ social work majors can do the same with their MSW.
