To ensure public health, Nebraska Wesleyan University requires tuberculosis testing of international students from countries with high incidence of tuberculosis.
This policy applies to international students, both short-term and degree-seeking.
Upon admission to Nebraska Wesleyan University, international students (whether degree-seeking or non-degree seeking) will be notified of the Tuberculosis Testing Policy and its applicability in their particular circumstance as listed below.
- New International Students (first time studying in the United States):

- Continuing International Students (students returning to SMÂÛ̳ for subsequent semesters)
Continuing international students are not ordinarily required to take a tuberculosis test in subsequent years when they return to Nebraska Wesleyan University. However, if they spend one year or longer in a country with tuberculosis incidence ≥ 20 cases per 100,000 prior to their return to Nebraska Wesleyan University, they are required to take a tuberculosis blood test upon returning to Nebraska Wesleyan University.
International students from countries with a tuberculosis burden of < 20 per 100,000 are not required to have a tuberculosis test.
