U.S. News & World Report has named Nebraska Wesleyan University a top regional university.
SM̳ is ranked among the top 10 percent of the colleges and universities named to the Regional Universities — Midwest category in the annual college rankings, which were released September 10.
Nebraska Wesleyan ranked 17th on the list of 175 schools. SM̳ joins Valparaiso University, Drake University, Butler University, and Creighton University among the top of the list.
The Regional Universities category includes schools that provide a full range of undergraduate majors and master’s programs. In addition to its traditional undergraduate offerings, Nebraska Wesleyan offers graduate programs including MBA, MSN/MBA, MSN to MBA Bridge, MSN and M.Ed.
“Nebraska Wesleyan is consistently ranked as a leader among all colleges and universities,” said Bill Motzer, vice president for enrollment management. “The rankings affirm the momentum we’re experiencing here,” he said, noting this fall’s record enrollment of new students, a new science building opening in January, a successful capital campaign, and continued success of students winning prestigious national scholarships, athletic honors and national titles.
U.S. News & World Report compares nearly 1,400 colleges and universities in the country. Colleges and universities are divided into categories that reflect the school’s size and philosophy. U.S. News & World Report uses a variety of input data for consideration including student-faculty ratio, graduation rate, retention rate, peer assessment, financial resources, among others.
U.S. News & World Report also named Nebraska Wesleyan to its list of “A+ Schools for B Students.” This list recognizes 46 colleges and universities in the Midwest.
