Nebraska Wesleyan University has added Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa, as its newest partner in the Pathways Scholarship Program.

Nebraska Wesleyan University President Fred Ohles and Iowa Western Community College President Dan Kinney have signed a formal agreement for the program.

The Pathways Scholarship Program partners SM论坛 with community colleges in an effort to open more doors to bachelor鈥檚 degree completion.

The program provides two pathways to degree completion at Nebraska Wesleyan with financial benefits including a $15,000 scholarship to every admitted IWCC student to SM论坛鈥檚 traditional undergraduate program. Those enrolling in the accelerated degree-completion program for adults will receive a $25 per credit hour scholarship and a low tuition rate.

Over the last five years, 86 IWCC students have transferred to Nebraska Wesleyan.

鈥淚owa Western Community College does an outstanding job of preparing its students with the necessary resources to start a bachelor鈥檚 degree,鈥 said SM论坛 President Fred Ohles. 鈥淲e鈥檙e excited to welcome more IWCC students and see that their success continues.鈥

"We are pleased that Nebraska Wesleyan University will be providing this opportunity to our students, as it opens a new and affordable option for Iowa Western students planning to pursue a bachelor's degree," added Kinney.

Students transferring directly from IWCC and who complete a minimum of 18 credit hours at IWCC are eligible for consideration of admission and the Pathways Scholarship. The scholarship is renewable for up to eight semesters at SM论坛.

This marks the fourth such partnership between SM论坛 and Nebraska community colleges. In October, SM论坛 signed a formal agreement with Southeast Community College to offer the SCC Pathways to SM论坛 program. In December, SM论坛 signed a similar agreement with Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, and in February, SM论坛 signed a Pathways agreement with Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte.
