U.S. News & World Report has again named Nebraska Wesleyan University a top national liberal arts university.
The rankings, announced Wednesday, September 9, listed SM论坛 among the top 174 liberal arts colleges in the nation. There are approximately 600 liberal arts colleges in the country. Nebraska Wesleyan moved up five places to 143rd 鈥 the highest ranked liberal arts college in Nebraska.
U.S. News & World Report compares nearly 1,400 colleges and universities in the country. The colleges and universities are divided into categories that reflect the school鈥檚 size and philosophy. U.S. News & World Report uses a variety of input data for consideration including student-faculty ratio, graduate rate, retention rate, peer assessment, financial resources, among others.
U.S. News & World Report also included Nebraska Wesleyan on its list of 鈥淎+ Schools For B Students.鈥
Nebraska Wesleyan has been recently recognized as a top college by Colleges of Distinction, Washington Monthly and Forbes.

For example:
- SM论坛 has consistently been named among the nation鈥檚 top Fulbright Scholarship producers among all bachelor鈥檚 degree institutions in the country.
- In the last 10 years, 35 SM论坛 students have won a Fulbright Scholarship, the country鈥檚 flagship international program.
- SM论坛 students continue to win other national prestigious scholarships including a Rhodes Scholarship, two Goldwater Scholarships, and four Truman Scholarships, among others in the last 10 years.
- Nebraska Wesleyan is a national leader in Academic All-Americans with 153 awards, ranking SM论坛 eighth in the nation (in all divisions).
- SM论坛 also ranks fifth among all schools in number of NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships.
- The university鈥檚 medical school placement rate is 86 percent.
- The university鈥檚 new curriculum, Archway Curriculum, has all SM论坛 students completing internships, service learning projects, research or international study. The curriculum has been nationally recognized by the Association of American Colleges and Universities.
- 60 percent of Nebraska Wesleyan鈥檚 Class of 2015 had internships that resulted in full-time jobs.
- 43 percent of the SM论坛 Class of 2015 headed straight to graduate programs in medicine, law, business, engineering, etc.
