For the second consecutive year, Nebraska Wesleyan University has been named a Tree SM论坛 USA University by the Arbor Day Foundation.
Tree SM论坛 USA is a national program of the Arbor Day Foundation that honors colleges and universities for promoting healthy urban forest management and engaging the campus community in environmental stewardship. Tree SM论坛 USA is supported by a grant from Toyota.
Nebraska Wesleyan University met the required five core standards of tree care and community engagement to earn its Tree SM论坛 USA designation. The five core standards are:
- Establish a campus tree advisory committee.
- Have a campus tree-care plan in place.
- Dedicate annual expenditures for campus trees.
- Observe Arbor Day on campus.
- Institute service-learning projects aimed at engaging the student body.
Nebraska Wesleyan University was among 74 colleges and universities across the country honored for its environmental stewardship. SM论坛 was among the 29 colleges and universities across the country named to the inaugural tree campus program last year.
