ADULT STUDENTS IN SCHOLASTIC TRANSITION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

EWI of Omaha offers the Adult Students in Scholastic Transition (ASIST) Scholarship Program in the Omaha metro area. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to adult students in a non-traditional or transitional educational situation. EWI believes that the ASIST Program will positively impact the personal life, employment, family and community of the applicant.

Scholarship Awards:
EWI Omaha has $20,000 available to award scholarships in 2025. Amounts will vary based on the number of applicants and their respective need. Historically, awards have been in the $2,500-$5,000 range. Awards can be used for the recipient鈥檚 tuition and related
expenses, which can include books and mandatory fees. Not included are items such as rent, utility payments, travel expense, day care expense or repayment of existing loans.

Who Can Apply:

The ASIST Scholarship is a non-discriminatory, educational scholarship program for the benefit of non-traditional students pursuing an associates, bachelor's or master's degree, or a certification program at an accredited educational institution. These include persons who are:
鈥 Past high school age and who are entering a college, university, or trade school and/or the workforce for the first time
鈥 Non-traditional students already enrolled in a college, university, or trade school program
鈥 Re-training due to changes in the workplace

Applicants for the EWI Omaha scholarship must reside in one of the following counties:
Douglas, Lancaster, Sarpy, Washington and Otoe Counties in Nebraska and Harrison, Mills and Pottawattamie Counties in Iowa.


Applicants cannot be an EWI representative. All applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Clearly define their career goals and objectives.
    鈥 Specify the educational requirements to attain the above goals and objectives.
    鈥 Utilize re-entry programs or personal assessment programs available through
    colleges, universities, community agencies, service groups or career professionals.

It is helpful if the following items are ready in advance as they will need to be uploaded:
鈥 Transcripts from schools attending (or most recent school attended).
鈥 Letters of Recommendation (2)
鈥 Financial Documents
o FAFSA
o Other Scholarships awarded, etc.
鈥 Essay (maximum 1000 words)


Applicants will need to create their own account on myKaleidoscope.com. This will allow
an individual access to their application until the deadline. The applicant can continue
to work on, refine or add additional material to their application even though the process
says 鈥渟ubmit鈥. You must SUBMIT to save any changes.

The application deadline is March 31, 2025 at 11:59 PM Central Standard Time.
